Introduction

The project is related to environmental awareness in building design. We aim at providing a shading system for facade Inspired by inflatable architecture and folding technics, we wondered about a way to shade buildings when temperature goes too high on a facade.

Inspiration

We got strong inspiration from origami folding art. By looking a bit further into architecture field, we observe that this technic is already used to enhance building properties, and to go from a static to a dynamic behavior of buildings. The inflatable and elastic properties of some materials, like plastic of fabric, is also considered here to enjoy a low-energy-consumption transformation of building parts.
